Heraeus sells Noblelight Specialty Lighting Business to Excelitas Technologies

Hanau, September 15th 2023. Heraeus Group has signed a definitive agreement to sell its specialty lighting business Heraeus Noblelight to US-based Excelitas Technologies Corp., headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts. Excelitas Technologies is to acquire 100 percent of the shares in Heraeus Noblelight.

"As a leading player in the specialty light market, Heraeus Noblelight has a strong footprint in the areas of market access, problem-solving expertise, and technological bandwidth. We are convinced, that this agreement will further boost Heraeus Noblelight’s stable growth path of the last years,” said Jan Rinnert, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Heraeus Group.

The sale is expected to close by the end of 2023, subject to customary closing conditions and receipt of required regulatory approvals.

Heraeus Noblelight is one of the world's market and technology leaders for specialty light sources with wavelengths ranging from ultraviolet to infrared. It develops and manufactures lamps, emitters and systems in high vertical integration. They are used in analytical measurement technology, in industrial processes such as drying, hardening or molding, in medical technology, and in the disinfection and treatment of air and water.

Heraeus Noblelight is headquartered in Kleinostheim, Germany, and operates production sites in Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, China and Japan, as well as sales units in Europe and parts of Southeast Asia. The company employs around 850 people.
